When Jennifer Pack joined Warrington Veterinary Clinic (Pensacola, FL) as practice manager in June 2023, the clinic was well established in the community, with a loyal clientele – but ready for transformation.

In business since 1990, the clinic changed ownership in 2021, when a husband-and-wife team, fresh out of veterinary school, arrived with visions for a modern-day practice. “In just four years,” Jennifer says, “they’ve implemented new software, embraced AI, expanded the clinic, and renovated from front to back.”

A fresh perspective on practice management

Jennifer brought a fresh yet seasoned perspective to Warrington, having spent more than 20 years in human healthcare, most recently as a general manager at a compounding pharmacy.

“I took what I learned there – managing workflows, staff, and operations – and applied it to veterinary medicine,” she says. “Even before I started, I went into a vet tech school for a year to better understand the industry. That helped me hit the ground running.”

One of her first major initiatives was updating the clinic’s software. The team had been using a well-known server-based system, which Jennifer could best describe as “outdated.”

“Looking at the platform itself, it felt ancient – like the 1990s. Provet was so fresh and user-friendly by comparison.”

Finding the right fit – in the cloud

“That was very important,” Jennifer explains. “Sometimes the doctors are out in the field, and they need the system at their fingertips. Other platforms we looked at didn’t offer that, and integrations were limited – things like sending a payment link or online booking weren’t possible. For us, offering convenience for clients was critical.”

Implementation without interruption + strong support

Switching software can be disruptive, but Jennifer says Warrington’s onboarding went as smoothly as possible.

“We couldn’t afford any downtime. Provet allowed us to continue seeing patients and managing appointments without interruption. We stayed fully operational the entire time,” she recalls.

And team adaptation was quick. “Staff who had never used it were up and running in three days, even though some were hesitant because they’d used the old system for years. But once they saw Provet, it clicked. The aesthetics, the usability – it just works. Training new staff is so much easier now.”

Jennifer also values Provet’s approach to support:

“From implementation onward, the team met with us weekly. They gave us homework, answered questions, and found workarounds when needed. And the relationship has continued – we speak regularly with the same people we met at the start. That continuity has been a huge plus.”

“Clients want convenience – they don’t want to wait on hold for 20 minutes. If they can book online, it’s a huge win for them and for us,” Jennifer notes.
