UCD to implement the cloud-based software for all teachers and students in its globally recognized veterinary programme

London, England, and Dublin, Ireland, 5 May 2023: Provet Cloud, the leading cloud-based practice management solution from Nordhealth, has announced that the University College Dublin (UCD) School of Veterinary Medicine has selected Provet Cloud’s software for its program’s teaching hospital.

The only veterinary teaching hospital in Ireland and one of seven AVMA-accredited veterinary schools in Europe, UCD School of Veterinary Medicine is now the eleventh university in the world to adopt Provet Cloud, a key component in students’ preparation for the modern, technology-forward veterinary practice.

“UCD is critically important to the present and future of veterinary medicine in Ireland,” said Scott Goodsir-Smyth, Provet Cloud VP of Growth. “By adopting Provet Cloud, UCD will enable significant process enhancements, improve workflows, and create better visibility of the patient record across all departments of the veterinary school. We are proud to partner with UCD and to help prepare the next generation of veterinarians for success as they launch their careers.”

“We couldn’t be more excited to bring Provet Cloud to UCD,” said Julie Guerin, Finance Manager at UCD. “I believe a cloud-based system will transform how our teaching veterinarians, students, and staff work every day. Features such as lab and imaging integration, remote accessibility, simplified reports, expanded client payment options – just to name a few – have the potential to vastly improve work-life balance in our hospital.”

Provet Cloud will be used by 150 members of the UCD faculty and staff, and the software will give UCD’s 300 students, including interns and residents, exposure to the kind of progressive practice management system they should expect to encounter – and have proficiency in – when they graduate and enter the field. “Making routine tasks easier will give our teaching veterinarians more time with their students, and students will learn how a practice is properly run,” added Guerin.
