Provet Cloud release (September 2025): Clinical AI, faster patient histories, smarter refills, and stronger security

In this release: We’re thrilled to announce the launch of Clinical AI, a suite of native tools that saves you time and helps you stay focused on your patients: instant patient history summaries, real-time consultation note transcription, and automatic discharge instructions – all built right into Provet Cloud. Already available in the US and UK, Clinical AI will be launching soon for our global user community.

We’ve also delivered a range of other updates to make your work smoother, faster, and more secure:

Introducing Provet's Clinical AI

What it does:
Provet’s native Clinical AI helps you at every stage of a consultation. With a single click, you can save time with:

• AI Patient History Summary – Instantly summarize up to 10 years of patient history, so you begin each consult with the full story.
  
  
• AI Scribe – Dictate or speak naturally while AI creates structured SOAP or narrative notes in real time, ready for your review.
  
  
• AI Discharge Instructions – Automatically generate clear, personalized discharge instructions based on your notes, fully editable before sending.

Clinical AI is available right inside the consultation screen – no extra logins, setup, or integrations required.

Patient history infinity scroll

What it does:
Patient histories now load in smaller pieces of 50 entries at a time, instead of all at once. This significantly speeds up the initial load time when opening a record.

Key benefits:
✓ Faster access to patient histories, even for records with hundreds of entries.
✓ Smoother scrolling and better overall performance.
✓ No more waiting for large histories to fully load before you can get to work.

Refill management in invoicing and counter sales

What it does:
You can now manage prescription refills directly from the invoice or counter sale pages. In addition, you can add multiple open refills from a single transaction and even sell or dispense refills for different patients under the same owner in one go.

As part of this update, the old “Allow renew refill” clinic location setting has been retired. Refill permissions are now controlled through the role-based permission “Create refills outside of a consultation.” This ensures a more consistent and flexible refill workflow across Provet.

Note: This feature will be enabled on 10 September, giving clinics one week to review and adjust permissions if needed.

Strengthening account security with two-factor authentication (2FA)

What it does:
To further protect sensitive data, Provet Cloud will begin enforcing two-factor authentication (2FA) for all users in the Administrator Permission Group in 60 days. In preparation, we’re also introducing flexible enforcement controls so clinics can tailor 2FA policies to their needs.

• Email 2FA provides a one-time code via email – simple, secure, and no extra apps required.
• Group-based enforcement lets you apply 2FA by group, role, or permission level.
• Flexible policy controls allow you to strengthen security for high-risk actions without burdening every user.
• Compliance alignment supports MFA requirements in regulated industries.

Admins can prepare by reviewing group memberships, enabling email 2FA, or using Single Sign-On (SSO) if preferred.

Vetcove integration

What it does:
We’re excited to introduce an integration with Vetcove, a purchasing hub that lets you order from multiple wholesalers in one place. Provet Cloud now syncs your product list and stock levels with Vetcove, ensuring accurate ordering and inventory management.

Key benefits:
✓ Products from Provet Cloud automatically sync to Vetcove for ordering.
✓ Stock levels stay up to date, so you can spot low inventory quickly.
✓ Orders placed in Vetcove are automatically created in Provet Cloud.

Support for multiple PACS per clinic location

What it does:
Provet Cloud can now connect a clinic location to more than one PACS system. This is especially useful if you use different PACS solutions for different modalities (for example, CT and X-ray). Each modality can now be linked to the correct PACS, and referrals will direct you to the right images automatically.

Import from file improvements

What it does:
The “Import from file” functionality now provides clearer feedback when an import fails. Instead of leaving you guessing, the system will display a new Failed Rows column, show a Partial status when only some rows succeed, and allow you to download an Excel file of failed rows for easy correction.

✓ Quickly identify which rows failed during an import.
✓ Download and fix errors directly in the file, then reattempt the import.
✓ Save time and reduce frustration when troubleshooting imports.
